Procedure for measuring the required handrail length:
■ No direct sunlight
■ Length measurements are taken only on straight handrail sections L1.
■ Do not measure the top or bottom curves.
■ Mark the start point and the end point and measure the length L1.
■ Run the escalator until the end point mark reaches the start point position.
■ Mark and measure the new length L2.
■ Repeat the procedure until the starting mark appears at the initial end point position.
■ The sum of all measurements (L1, L2, L3,… Ln) gives the actual length of the handrail.
■ Check the position of the handrail length compensation device. This must be taken into account when determining the required handrail length. If this device is on minimum, add the length and vice versa. |
