The following diagrams are SKG's recommended handrail designs, C-type and V-type handrails. A properly functioning and fitted handrail must have appropriate interplay between the guide element and drive mechanism of the escalator. The most important design dimensions are the inner width (B), inner height (E) and the lip width (A). The following cross-sectional diagrams and tables provide references for the appropriate values necessary for your system. Alternate designs should be discussed with SKG technicians on a case-by-case basis.
